We are a great bunch here at Manchester Convention Bureau!
Working together to ensure that our clients get the very best out of their Manchester events by providing a host of complimentary services, including venue finding, accommodation booking and site visits.
Over the coming weeks we will introduce you to all our individual team members, but for now here is a snap shot of what we get up to on an average day here at the bureau.

9am
It looks like it will be a busy day in Manchester. There are a couple of major conferences in town today and we'll be monitoring their social media feeds to follow the action.
Don’t forget you can list your conference on our website here.
9.30am
Nico and Angie have already been to a breakfast networking event.
10:00am
The team meets for the regular ‘10@10’ meeting – a really useful opportunity to discuss what we're all working on, upcoming events and projects for the week ahead.
10:40am
Laura has a catch up meeting with a hotelier over a coffee to discuss large events coming up.
11:00am
Nico is doing what she loves most - hosting clients for a site inspection. There’s a full itinerary planned with a visit to the proposed conference centre, as well as hotels, suggested venues for the social programme and a walking tour, and not forgetting a bit of free time to relax!
11:30am
Hot off the press! Ant has just received a box of bids from the printers. A quick check over and they’re ready to be sent via special delivery in time for the client’s bid deadline.
12:00pm
A client enquires about an out of the ordinary venue for a product launch next year. Nicky picks this up straight away and shortlists some venue options to send the enquiry to. Working on a 24 hour turn around Nicky will aim to have the proposal to the client by close of business today.
12:30pm
Lunch time! All this work makes the team ravenous!
13:00pm
Manasseh takes a call from a conference delegate through our accommodation booking line. The lady is attending a conference later in the year and would like to add an extra night onto the hotel with her family. Manasseh amends the booking quickly and provides her with a list of things to do whilst in Manchester.
13:30pm
Stephanie is attending a Local Organising Committee meeting at MediaCityUK for an up and coming conference. Stephanie and the team will be working with key conference stakeholders to ensure that the event is a huge success and showcases the city’s strengths.
14:00pm
Alex is coordinating an accommodation proposal for a large event in two years' time. 2019 seems a long way off now but it's important that Manchester's accommodation offer matches delegate expectations. He's using data from past editions of the meeting to ensure that Manchester is offering the right rooms at the right price.
14:30pm
Angie is meeting academics internationally renowned in their field at the University this afternoon to discuss the possibility of bidding for an international meeting. She'll be explaining how the Conference Ambassador Programme works, how the convention bureau can support their activities and laying the groundwork for coordinating a strong bid.

15:00pm
We're bidding for an event in the field of financial technology. A quick call to our sister company MIDAS gives us access to information on Manchester's strengths in FinTech. We'll use this information to strengthen our bid.
15:30pm
We won a bid! An Ambassador has emailed from South Africa to say that the Board has voted for Manchester to host their congress for 1,000 delegates in 2020. We don't know any details but will have a full debrief when she returns. Much celebration in the office.
16:00pm
All the venues have replied to Nicky's enquiry. So the proposal goes out. A couple of venues don't have the dates available, but there are still 5-6 good options for the client to consider.
17:00pm
Home time! Alex is testing out Manchester's dockless bike-sharing scheme, Mobike. It's a great option for getting around the city quickly and a good option for visiting delegates who wish to explore Manchester with limited time.
