EventCity, the North’s largest blank canvas exhibition and multipurpose event venue, has revealed that it has begun a major investment into its meetings rooms, inspired by the famous and colourful pioneers of Manchester’s history. The investment also includes an upgrade to Hall 4, EventCity’s purpose-built conference and gala dinner space.
The £400,000 refurbishment, which began in June, will include a complete refresh of EventCity’s 10 meeting rooms to pay tribute to the venue’s location in the heart of TraffordCity, just six miles from Manchester city centre. The quirkily and individually themed meeting rooms have been designed to provide an inspirational and productive environment in which to hold meetings. Rooms are named after and designed with famous Manchester firsts, both past and present, in mind, such as Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of the suffragette movement; George Stephenson, known as ‘the father of the railways’; and Tom Kilburn, creator of the first computer.
Event and Building Services Director, Peter Hutchinson, said: “Manchester is famous for its firsts in history and its inspirational people, and this is something we wanted to celebrate as we believe Manchester has been first choice for events in the North. Our new colourful, modern and inspirational meeting and events spaces reflect the personality of our wonderful city, create an environment of creativity and productivity and allow everyone to learn something new about this great city we call home.”
As well as the refurbishment of its small meeting rooms, EventCity’s purpose-built conference and gala dinner space, Hall 4, has been refreshed with new carpets throughout and an upgrade to the lighting system to allow it to be tailored to each client’s needs. At almost 6,000 square metres, Hall 4 offers a blank canvas for event planners to create the layout, look and feel to bring their event to life.
The interior and exterior navigation around the purpose-built venue has also been enhanced with added wayfinding signs, to further improve the client experience on site.
The purpose-built meeting rooms can accommodate between 4 to 60 people and offers free and easily accessible on-site car parking situated outside the front doors of the venue. EventCity has recently launched its new menu dedicated to the needs of meetings, and offers a variety of options, freshly prepared on the premises by The Kitchen team.
EventCity – owned by The Peel Group - is the UK’s largest venue in the North and the second largest venue outside London with a total of 28,000 square metres of flexible and versatile space. The venue provides tailored event solutions from conception to completion and its new in-house food and beverage offering, The Kitchen, can serve up to 3,500 people.
EventCity is located in TraffordCity, the foremost destination in the UK, giving the venue’s visitors access to 3.5 million square feet of retail, leisure and entertainment, including 15,000 free parking spaces within a 15-minute walk.
