The UK Town and Gown Association (UKTGA) is an association of community practitioners that aims to strengthen the relationship between universities and the communities where their students reside. They connect and support the professional development of members, ultimately contributing to making their communities a better place to live, work and study for all residents.
This autumn, the bi-annual UKTGA conference returns to Manchester and we’re excited to welcome off-campus practitioners from across the county (and beyond!) to the city to explore the theme of Building Bridges: Innovating Together for Sustainable and Inclusive Communities.
Delegates are invited to join UKTGA members, Monday 11-Wednesday 13 November at the Hyatt Regency in Manchester for an exciting programme of presentations, workshops, TED-style talks and panel discussions. The conference will highlight collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing relationships and addressing challenges through innovation, cultural exchange, and sustainable practices. You can also join the team for a training session on ‘Studentification and Town and Gown Relations: Strategies for Harmonious Coexistence’ on the afternoon of Sunday 10 November.
The UKTGA unites the town and the gown communities in an environment that extends beyond their traditional boundaries and anyone working in the “third space” between academic and professional roles is encouraged to attend the conference.
